Purity is built on a simple idea: you should know what's in your snacks, and you shouldn't have to trade your privacy to find out. We don't run ads, we don't sell your data, and we collect as little as we can while still making the app work. Here is exactly what that means.
Your account: When you first open Purity, we create an anonymous account so your saved items and preferences can sync to your device. This doesn't require your name, email, or any personal details. If you upgrade to Purity Pro, you may create a sign-in (for example, with an email address) so your subscription stays linked to you across devices.
Your preferences: The allergens, ingredients to avoid, and dietary rules you choose in your profile. We use these to filter and personalize the products we show you.
Your activity in the app: Products you save to your Pantry, products you scan or swipe, and your daily picks. This is what lets the app remember your Pantry and avoid showing you the same picks twice.
Camera, for scanning: When you scan a barcode, Purity uses your camera to read the barcode number. The camera image is processed on your device and is not uploaded or stored. We only use the resulting barcode to look up the product.
Basic technical data: Like most apps, we receive limited information needed to run reliably and fix problems, such as app version, device type, and crash reports.
Subscriptions: If you subscribe to Purity Pro, your payment is processed by Apple or Google, not by us. We never see or store your card details.
We use the data above only to run the app, calculate Purity Scores and Protein Ratios, personalize your daily picks, remember your saved products and preferences, manage your subscription, and improve the app's reliability.
We don't sell your data. We do rely on a small number of service providers to run Purity, and they only process data on our behalf:
Your data is stored on Google Firebase using industry-standard security. We work to protect it, but no method of storage or transmission is ever completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. Your choices:
Purity isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Purity is an information tool. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for reading the product label. Ingredient and allergen data comes from third-party sources and can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong, and it may not reflect cross-contamination. Always check the actual packaging before eating something, especially if you have a food allergy.
